近日RIM联合CEO Jim Balsillie表示，公司将于明年第一季度在北美地区以低于500美元的价格开售BlackBerry PlayBook平板电脑。

在採访中Jim Balsillie还表示，明年第二季度BlackBerry PlayBook将登陆全球其他地区市场。据了解，BlackBerry PlayBook拥有7吋电容式多点触萤幕，搭载Cortex A9双核CPU及1GB RAM，运行BlackBerry Tablet OS系统，支援真正多工作业。而且借助大容量电池，可连续观看影音7小时。

由于iPad的巨大成功下，目前已有如HP、Samsung、Motorola、Google等公司纷纷开始加入平板电脑计划。
